Grown at altitude.
Shipped with intention.
Eleven years ago, we planted our first Echeveria cuttings in the mineral-rich volcanic soil of Yunnan Province. Today, SouthQuest Farm spans 50,000 m² of cloud-cooled greenhouse space and supplies premium succulents to partners in over 40 countries.
Why Yunnan is the world's natural greenhouse
"The same latitude as Hawaii, the same altitude as the Swiss Alps — Yunnan is nature's perfect terroir for succulents."
Kunming sits at 1,891 metres above sea level with mild year-round temperatures between 10–25°C, moderate humidity, and 2,200+ hours of annual sunshine. This unique microclimate produces succulents with dramatically enhanced colour expression, compact tight rosette geometry, and root systems robust enough to survive international transit without water for up to 21 days.
Unlike coastal Chinese farms operating at sea level, our highland environment naturally stress-colours species like Echeveria agavoides 'Lipstick' and Aeonium arboreum 'Zwartkop' without chemical intervention — producing the vivid, photogenic specimens that premium buyers worldwide seek.
"Every plant that leaves our farm is a direct extension of our reputation."
We don't operate a catalogue-and-ship model. Every order — whether 12 collector specimens or 12,000 wholesale units — is personally overseen from selection through to customs clearance. That's the SouthQuest difference.
Start a ConversationThree principles we never compromise
Botanical Integrity
Every variety is correctly identified, tagged, and sourced from verified seed or cutting lineages. We never misrepresent species or cultivar names — because your customers' trust begins with ours.
Documentation First
Phytosanitary certificates, GACC registration numbers, packing manifests, and commercial invoices are prepared with zero-error tolerance. Clean paperwork is what separates a smooth import from a customs seizure.
Long-Term Partnership
We invest in multi-season relationships, not one-off transactions. Partners who grow with us gain access to reserved capacity, first-look rare variety drops, and custom growing programs tailored to their market.
Let's build something beautiful together.
Whether you're placing your first order or scaling an established program, we're ready to talk.
